Job Description
Our client is seeking a GIS Engineer/Data Specialist to join their dynamic team, focusing on data management and optimization to support a wide range of geospatial and administrative tasks. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. With a hybrid work policy of three days in the office and two days remote, this position offers a balanced work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
– Data Processing and Migration: Adapt and process database-stored information for integration into new environments.
– Table Structures: Develop and implement new table structures to support data management needs.
– Data Transfer: Utilize FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) for efficient data transfer and transformation.
– Metadata and Data Models: Manage metadata and maintain robust data models.
– Spatial Data Handling: Perform data migration tasks and work within Esri’s ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.
– Digitization: Convert analog information into digital formats and ensure its accessibility.
– Process Development: Optimize and streamline data flows to enhance organizational processes.
– Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve disk alarm issues efficiently.
– Network Management: Oversee firewall adjustments, document changes, and manage system configurations within the organization.
– License Management: Transfer and manage licenses across different environments.
– Access Control: Handle Active Directory (AD) groups and manage access permissions effectively.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
– Degree in Cartography, GIS Engineering, or equivalent education/experience.
– Fundamental knowledge of spatial databases and geodata management.
– Advanced expertise in databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
– Hands-on experience with Active Directory (AD) and AD group management.
– Proficiency in FME for data integration and transformation tasks.

– Solution-driven, self-motivated, and capable of taking the initiative to solve challenges independently.
Preferred Skills:
– Familiarity with CAD and/or BIM software.
– Experience working within governance frameworks such as PM3 or similar methodologies.
