Job Description

Our client is seeking a Data Specialist to play a crucial role in defining and shaping data management capabilities within their organization.

Role Overview
This position presents a unique chance to shape a unified data ecosystem tailored to meet the enterprise’s operational and analytical needs. You will be responsible for designing the target architecture for data management, conducting a comprehensive evaluation of existing tools and capabilities, and recommending the ideal future state for efficient data use. Collaboration with data governance experts and information architects will be key, as you work together to implement a federated data governance model across the company. This role is part of the “Data Governance & Community” unit within the AI, Analytics, and Data Tech Center, a division of Business Tech.

Key Responsibilities
In your capacity as a Data Management Architect, you’ll focus on the following areas:

– Current State Analysis: Conduct a high-level assessment of current data management capabilities and tools, building on existing pre-studies across various areas, including Master Data Management, to form a cohesive understanding of needs.
– Target Architecture Development: Lead efforts to define the target architecture for data management, and create a high-level roadmap that suggests potential technology investments.
– Requirement Gathering: Facilitate the collection of requirements to prepare for an RFI/RFP process to procure necessary technologies.
– Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert in data management, educating team members and the broader organization on various data management functions and their role in ensuring fit-for-purpose data.

Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in data management, coupled with a holistic perspective on data governance and its impact on driving business value. You are well-versed in the latest data management tools, have a strong awareness of market trends, and possess the following qualifications:

– Proven experience implementing data management and governance frameworks in large, global organizations.
– Demonstrated ability to define target architecture for data management.
– Hands-on experience conducting pre-studies and managing RFI/RFP processes to evaluate and acquire technology.
– Strong knowledge of current data management and governance tools, with direct experience using them.
– Exceptional communication and documentation skills in English.
– Prior project management experience and familiarity with agile methodologies are advantageous.
